We've Moved!

Well, there have been a lot of changes this past year;

I retired from my 19 1/2 year job due to medical reasons.  It was the best thing I could have done, even though it was difficult to do.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer, and now after a partial lung removal and chemotherapy is considered to be cancer free.  We will find out for sure in January when she visits her doctor again.

Because I missed six months of work prior to my early retirement being approved, we fell behind on our mortgage and were left with no choice but to list our house for sale to avoid foreclosure.  We were fortunate enough to have a buyer in the first week, but it took months for the mediations and other hoops we had to jump through for the bank, so we finally closed last week.

We have moved into our new apartment wich is 60 years newer than our old place, and in much better condition.  I love the character of our old house, but the bright apartment and the lack of blemishes everywhere has made me more at home here than I thought I would be.

I loved our dance-hall-sized livingroom at our old house, but it never evoked an inviting feeling because of it's enormous size.  The new place feels cozy in every room while still providing adequate space for us.

Now that Christmas has passed, things will finally settle down again and I can catch my breath and get back into creating more art and jewelry.  Despite the many changes and unfortunate events of this past year, I am feeling better now; more relaxed and more hopeful about the future.

My, oh my! You have had a busy and challenging year. Sometimes, we don't really know how strong we are, until we're tested. But, it's a brand new year, in a brand new home, with lots of new beginnings. Keep the positive attitude that I know you have, never give up and continue to create your artwork, like you were meant to do. You're in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you and your family. And may you have a happy, healthy and successful New Year! Good luck with and enjoy your new home.
